Many manufacturing facilities require the transportation of various types of cargo, which may include finished products or individual components. Equipment such as buy a conveyor belt which is necessary to simplify the production process, will be an excellent solution.

Each conveyor is equipped with a conveyor belt, along which products are moved during operation within the territory of an enterprise or other facility.

The conveyor is one of the most critical components and must therefore be highly reliable and meet the requirements placed on it. Each element, including the conveyor belt, must be selected correctly to ensure smooth operation.

What material should the conveyor belt be made of?

The most common materials used to manufacture conveyor belts are:

  • silicone;
  • polyurethane;
  • PVC;
  • polyolefin, etc.

The final choice of raw material depends on the intended application of the equipment. For example, if transporting oily food products, PVC is the preferred choice, as its surface is grease-resistant. This type of equipment is inexpensive. Sticky products move better on a silicone conveyor belt surface, and this material is also safe and non-contaminating.

Temperature of products moving along the conveyor belt

To safely transport cargo, its temperature must be taken into account, and it should not exceed the ambient temperature by more than 25 degrees. Silicone straps are the best option for this purpose.

Nature of movement

The texture and thickness of the product are selected depending on the type of belt movement. Horizontal machines require thinner material, with a coating no thicker than 0.5 mm. Belts used for inclined conveyors should have a ribbed surface; this texture adds thickness but does not strengthen the belt.

To ensure maximum safety when using such equipment, the material must contain special antistatic additives—carbon fibers—which add strength but also increase the cost of the product.
