TsU-5 welding electrodes are most often used for boiler welding. They are suitable for welding low-alloy and carbon steels, pipelines, and the root butt of their welds. TsU-5 electrodes use direct current with reverse polarity. The welding temperature should not exceed 400 degrees Celsius.
TsU-5 welding electrodes can be used in any orientation except vertically downwards. The metal deposition rate using TsU-5 electrodes is 900 grams per hour. The deposition rate of TsU-5 electrodes is 9.5 g/Ah. To deposit 1 kilogram of metal, 1.7 kilograms of electrodes are required. The relative elongation of the weld seam does not exceed 20%.
The weld metal produced by TsU-5 welding electrodes has a tensile strength of at least 490 MPa and an impact strength of 130 J/cm². To comply with state standards, TsU-5 electrodes utilize Sv-08 and Sv-08A welding wire. This wire has been tested for compliance with state standards.
After welding with TsU-5 electrodes, heat treatment of the weld seam is required at a short arc length. A special oven is recommended for annealing and storing TsU-5 electrodes. After annealing, the electrodes are ready for use.
