Oxygen cutting equipment Cutting can be manual or mechanized. Manual cutting uses a cutter. While the operating principle is the same, the classifications differ slightly, as each type can perform the task more precisely and requires different cutter grades. Some cutter components can also be made of different non-ferrous metal alloys or steel. These components can be either disassemblable or non-disassemblable.
Manual A cutter can't always produce a highly precise cut. Therefore, it is often used for small-volume jobs, such as repairs, plumbing, metalwork, and installation.
A general-purpose cutter is used for straight or curved cuts up to 300 mm thick. A special-purpose cutter is used for thicker metal, including underwater cutting and other applications.
Oxygen cutting equipment Hand-held torches are used for cutting with acetylene, propane, acetylene substitutes, and liquid fuels. Torches differ in the way they mix the combustible gas with oxygen and are therefore classified as injector, external-mix, or internal-mix. Universal injector-type torches are the most commonly used and are the most common. The RS-2A and RS-3P hand-held torches are effectively used in heavy-duty metallurgical applications, where they have proven themselves. Kerosene-powered RK-02 torches are used in applications where gas cutting is difficult.
Oxygen cutting equipment Mechanized cutting is used when flux cutting is employed. When cutting metal up to 250 mm thick, the UGRP unit is used, which cuts metal with sufficient precision and quality. Where large-tonnage cutting is required, a portable machine such as the "GUGARK" is successfully used. Where mass cutting of parts of the same type is required, the serially produced ASSh-86 articulated machine is used.
Oxygen cutting equipment Machine-building enterprises use gantry-and-cantilever machines with photocopier control, such as the PKK2-4F-2. These machines cut sheets of structural steel grades up to 100 mm thick, 2 m wide, and 8 m long. The required cut contour is automatically defined and precisely repeated even with a tolerance. +—0.5 mm is an extremely small value. When working with larger workpieces, a PKF portal-type remote-scaling machine is used. This machine has a higher level of automation, and therefore is more expensive, making it suitable for companies processing 1,500-2,000 tons of sheet metal per year.
Oxygen cutting equipment The "TORCH" cutting torch has two external and five internal nozzles that cut metal up to 300 mm thick and at speeds from 80 to 560 mm/min, depending on the metal properties and thickness.
