Metal machining is a process in which a special cutting tool removes a layer of metal from a workpiece to give it the desired shape. This process is based on data from relevant drawings, and the cutting tool is used to perform the work.
Based on this, there are three main methods of mechanical metal processing:
- cutting;
- plastic deformation;
- deforming cutting.
Let's look at cutting and plastic deformation in more detail, since the third type will be a combination of these two methods.

Metal cutting
Of all metalworking methods, cutting is the most popular. It removes unwanted portions of a workpiece or component.
The purpose of such processing is to produce a part with the required set of technical characteristics. Various equipment is used for this purpose. Metal cutting can be performed using our own equipment. band saw machines for metal, guillotines, grade shears, straightening and cutting machines, combined press shears.

Metal processing by plastic deformation
The method of metal processing using plastic deformation involves changing the shape, size, configuration, and other physical and mechanical properties of a part. Such deformation can be accomplished using forging hammers, presses for plastics, crank and hydraulic presses and various stamps for them.

In this case, deformation is necessary to shear, stretch, compress, twist, or bend the part. At the same time, unlike elastic deformation, plastic deformation allows for the result to be fixed and prevents the workpiece from returning to its original shape.
A wide range of machine tools are used in industrial metalworking. Kuvandyk Forging and Pressing Equipment Plant "Dolina" PJSC is a manufacturer of forging and pressing equipment and metalworking equipment.

The equipment we manufacture is highly productive and has an increased safety margin, allowing for three-shift operation if necessary. In such cases, it's especially important to ensure timely scheduled maintenance.
