All grades of high-alloy cast iron Each has its own characteristic properties, which is why they are used for specific purposes. Alloy marking is performed using a letter and number designation. Each designation indicates the type and quantity of additives. For example, grade ЧХ16 indicates that this cast iron is chromium-containing. This alloy is used in the production of equipment designed to operate in highly concentrated inorganic acids. The material also has high wear resistance. Its tensile strength is 350 MPa, and its hardness ranges from 400 to 450 MPa.

Examples of what types of high-alloy cast iron there are and how they are used

High-alloy cast iron grades:

  • ЧГ6С3Ш;
  • ЧГ7Х4.

Used to manufacture parts with increased abrasive wear resistance. They are widely used in the production of components for equipment operating in high dust, temperature, and abrasive conditions (such as ball mills and cement and slate production equipment). High-alloy cast iron grades ChN15D7 and ChN15DZSh are used in components requiring high corrosion resistance and erosion resistance in alkaline environments and sulfuric acids (of any concentration). They are also widely used in the manufacture of components operating in seawater and environments where equipment is exposed to highly superheated water vapor. These alloys achieve the required properties thanks to significant nickel inclusions. These grades are positioned as low-magnetic and heat-resistant.

The same alloys:

  • ЧС13;
  • ЧС15;
  • ChS15M4;
  • Emergency 17.

These are highly alloyed cast irons containing silicon and are used to create mechanisms that operate under strong influences of concentrated acids, alkalis, or salts (excluding hydrofluoric and fluoride compounds). ChKh16M2 is a chromium cast iron used for components subject to impact and abrasive wear, such as in mills and shot blasting chambers at elevated temperatures.

Brands:

  • ЧХ28;
  • ЧХ28Д2;
  • ЧХ28П;
  • ЧХ32;
  • ЧХ9Н5.

They have similar characteristics and are therefore used in the same industries. ChYu22Sh, ChYu30, ChYu6S5, and ChYu7Kh2 are aluminum-containing alloys. These alloys are quite heat-resistant and wear-resistant at high temperatures. They are used to manufacture components operating in aggressive, heat-resistant environments containing sulfur, sulfur dioxide, and water vapor.

As you can see, everything grades of high-alloy cast iron They are used in a fairly aggressive environment; in addition, alloying elements increase strength parameters and resistance to adverse operating conditions.
