The gas cutting process involves heating the required part to a certain temperature with a gas flame. The metal then ignites, forming oxides that are subsequently blown away by a jet of oxygen. It's important to remember that the melting point of the workpiece must exceed the temperature at which it ignites in oxygen; otherwise, the metal will not burn. The melting point of the oxides must be lower than that of the metal itself. It's crucial that the metal's thermal conductivity not be too high, otherwise it will ignite.

A gas cutting installation that does not require any maximum precision includes: a gas cutter, a pressure regulator, hoses, gas cylinders, and a mixer.

The torch must be suitable for gas welding, with a head angle of 90° or 60°C, and multiple nozzles. The outer nozzles are used to deliver a mixture of oxygen and acetylene, which preheats the metal sheet.

The gas cutting system includes two cylinders: one containing oxygen and the other fuel. The fuel is supplied via hoses made of two layers of rubber, held together by a special cotton frame, with a diameter of 6-12 mm and capable of operating at temperatures of -350°C (-400°F).

A gas metal cutting system includes pressure regulators for regulating compressed gases and cylinder valves. The pressure regulator stabilizes the gas pressure at a constant level. Powerful torches, such as the P2-01 and P3-01, differ from other models in their nozzle size, the operating oxygen pressure in the system, and the heating mixture supply pressure. This applies to manual metal cutting.

Automated gas cutting machines are increasingly being used, especially by small businesses. This mode is practical because it operates without human intervention; the user only sets the program for the operation. This type of machine only cuts sheet metal, producing a clean cut. There are many such models available, and all are proven.

Some models: "Smena," "Orbita," and "Sekator." They operate universally with both acetylene and propane, at operating temperatures of 1000-32000°C. The "Quicky" model can operate with acetylene and propane heating, but the nozzle is split into two parts, one for each gas.

There are mobile stationary gas cutting systems for metal that can cut through thick layers of metal and are very easy to use. One such cutter is the "Gugark," the most popular. Its unique feature is that it uses an additional blower to increase the heating pressure and oxygen jet, increasing cutting force and speed.

It can quickly cut high-strength alloys. However, it can only be used in a facility with a 380V power supply. It runs on electricity and has an additional compressor. Therefore, when planning to cut metal, it's important to consider the work methods and practicality in advance.
